ABOUT KASAULI TOWN ( Himachal Pradesh )

Some locals would believe that Kasauli comes from Kausalya, a mountain stream that flows between Kasauli and Jabli. The name might even have been derived from Kusmawali or Kusmali, meaning flower maiden. Given the abundance with which the hills of Kasauli bloom from spring to autumn, this could well be the truth.Hotel Bird View , Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, India

The two main walks around Kasauli, the Upper and Lower Mall are beautiful. The residents of Kasauli walk a lot, for Kasauli was always short on hill resort attractions and meant for getting about on your own two feet, in communion with nature or if you are lucky, a walking partner. The somewhat steep Upper Mall takes you past an important landmark, the Kasauli Club.

This salubrious hill station of Kasauli is famous for its different moods. The period between April and June is known for wild blooms and their astounding aroma. Wild rose, rhododendrons, coral tree, flame of the forest, katchnar and kashmal give the surroundings a bewitching look. Though the hill station is known for its green cover, the rainy season also adds to the greenness.

The fog clouds which are a rule of the day during the monsoons, pave the way for romantic moments. A sunny day in winter is a most valuable phenomenon for the visitor. The snowfall between January and February makes the hill station a veritable goldmine for ruffled nerves.
